Overview

Citron is a recipe app for home cooks. Connect your Citron account to ChatGPT to keep the recipes you find and the ones ChatGPT writes, then cook, shop and plan from them. With Citron in ChatGPT you can: - Import a recipe from a TikTok, Instagram or recipe web page link. Citron reads the recipe, credits its creator and keeps the original link. - Save a recipe ChatGPT writes for you to your Citron account. - Change one of your recipes (another ingredient, more servings) and save it as a Version. The original stays as it was. - Find your recipes by name or by the ingredients you have, and read one in full. - Add recipes, at any number of servings, and single items to your Grocery List. Amounts are added to the same items already on the list and not yet ticked. - Put recipes on dates and meals in your Meal Plan. Citron only reaches the recipes, Grocery List and Meal Plan of the account you connect. It can't delete or edit your recipes, and it never sends anything to a store or a cart. Your Grocery List and Meal Plan are in the Citron app for iPhone and Android.

Tools

add_to_grocery_list

ChatGPT
Put the person's Citron recipes, at any number of servings, and loose items on their Grocery List in Citron, the list they shop from. Citron scales each recipe's amounts to the servings and adds them to the same items already on the list and not yet ticked, so nothing is listed twice; ticked items are left as they are. Give each loose item its aisle. It returns how many items were added and how many were combined with items already on the list. The Grocery List is in the Citron app, with no web page to link to. This tool never sends anything to a store or a retailer's cart. When the person wants their shopping in a cart, tell them to open their grocery list in Citron to send it to their cart.

add_to_meal_plan

ChatGPT
Put the person's Citron recipes on dates and meals in their Meal Plan in Citron. One call can place a whole week. Before calling, turn relative dates ("Tuesday", "tomorrow", "this week") into ISO dates (YYYY-MM-DD), counting from today's date. Each entry goes into the person's plan covering its date; when they have none for that week, Citron creates the week's plan (Monday to Sunday). Servings default to the recipe's own. Nothing already planned is changed or removed. It returns each entry placed, with its date and meal. The Meal Plan is in the Citron app, with no web page to link to. When the person asks to put the planned recipes on their grocery list, call add_to_grocery_list with those recipe_ids and the servings planned.

find_recipes

ChatGPT
Search the person's own Citron recipes and return a summary of each match, with a link to it in Citron. For "what can I make with chicken and zucchini?" or a photo of their fridge, pass the main ingredients as ingredients: a recipe must contain every one, so start with two or three and try fewer if nothing matches. Name each ingredient simply and in the singular ("zucchini", not "2 zucchini, sliced"; "egg", not "eggs"): a plural misses recipes that use the singular. For a recipe by name ("my lasagna"), pass query. With neither, it returns the most recent recipes, e.g. for "what did I save this week?". Use get_recipe to read one in full. If the person has no recipes yet, offer to import one from a link or to save a recipe you write.

get_import_status

ChatGPT
Check on a recipe import in the person's Citron account. Returns the finished recipe, says it is still importing, or says it failed.

get_recipe

ChatGPT
Read one of the person's Citron recipes in full: its ingredients with quantities, its steps and its times, with a link to it in Citron. Use it to answer questions about the recipe, scale it or walk the person through it. Scaling or changing it in the conversation doesn't change it in Citron. To keep a changed recipe, offer to save it with save_recipe and based_on set to this recipe_id, as a Version beside the original. For a Version, based_on is the recipe_id of the recipe it was made from.

import_recipe

ChatGPT
Import a recipe from a TikTok, Instagram or recipe web page link into the person's Citron account, and return the full recipe with the creator's credit, the original link and a link to the recipe in Citron. Use it when the person shares a recipe link, including videos you can't open yourself. Scaling or adapting the recipe in the conversation doesn't change the copy saved in Citron.

save_recipe

ChatGPT
Save a recipe you wrote in this conversation to the person's Citron account as a new recipe, and return it with a link to it in Citron. After you write a recipe for the person, offer to save it to Citron. Send the whole recipe as you wrote it, in its own language: the title, the servings, every ingredient with its quantity, unit and grocery aisle, and the steps in order. Give every ingredient its aisle, so it lands in the right aisle of the person's Grocery List. Saving the same recipe again within a few minutes returns the recipe already saved. When you adapt one of the person's Citron recipes (another ingredient, another number of servings), save the adapted recipe with based_on set to that recipe's recipe_id: Citron keeps it as a Version beside the original, which stays exactly as it was. Never present it as an edit of the original, and tell the person plainly that the original is unchanged. Give a Version a clear title that tells it from the original, e.g. "Lasagna (turkey, serves 8)".
