Commish plans the production route and cost by quantity, guides ChatGPT to create the images manufacturers need from your spec (a realistic reference photo, a views sheet, or your own photo edited to match), and turns the chat into a request for quote with a shareable page and PDF. Find existing or similar products with visual search and shop links, send quote requests to manufacturers (factories and OEMs, self-serve print platforms and independent sellers), or publish an open request any manufacturer can quote on without an account. You compare quotes on landed cost and pay the manufacturer you choose directly.

Self-serve platforms get ordering steps instead. Confirm the manufacturer list with the user first. Nothing is paid or ordered: Commish can't charge a card or place an order, so if the user asks for that, say so plainly and offer to request or accept quotes instead (the buyer pays the manufacturer directly).

save_design

Use this when the user approves a design and wants to keep it, share it, find similar products or get quotes. Generate the reference photo first (get_design_brief's image_set) and pass it in images with image_labels: a request without an image can't be published and gets fewer quotes. Saves a new version (nothing is overwritten) as a request for quote: spec, must-haves, quantities, sourcing preference and images, and returns a shareable link with a PDF download. To revise, pass design_id: omitted fields are copied from that version.

share_design

Use this when the user wants more manufacturers to see their request, or asks to post, publish or broadcast it. Publishes the saved design as an open request: a public page on the requests board with one quote link any manufacturer can use (no login), listed in the board's feeds and announced to manufacturers who subscribed to the category. Returns the public link, share links and paste-ready text for sourcing sites and groups. The user's email and private link stay private. Get the user's OK first: the title, description, spec and images become public. The design needs an image: save one with save_design before publishing. action = unpublish takes it off the board.
