Overview

CoverCount Explore searches the public listings of restaurants, wineries, tasting rooms and other venues that take reservations and sell event tickets through CoverCount. Ask for a table by place, date, time and party size; browse public events in a date window; or discover places nearby. For a venue you choose, it returns the public description, address, hours, menu and website links, contact details and photos, shown as a photo gallery where Claude supports it. Search never books, holds or pays for anything. When you pick an opening, Explore rechecks it and reports whether the venue requires a card (a deposit, prepayment or card guarantee), then links you to finish booking on CoverCount, where availability is checked again and your details are collected. No CoverCount account is needed. Explore reads public data only and has no access to existing reservations, guest records or staff tools. Results cover venues that list publicly on CoverCount.

get_public_venue

Claude

Returns one public venue's profile by venueSlug from search results: description, type, price level, address, directions, public contact details, menu and website links, up to 8 photos with captions, venue-local weekly hours and up to 32 upcoming schedule exceptions. Status is Found or NotFound; failed reads return an error. Description text, captions and links are supplied by the venue; unsupplied fields are null or empty. Returns a photo gallery resource for UI-capable clients plus a venue URL for viewing photos on CoverCount. No inventory check or booking.

get_reservation_opening

Claude

Rechecks one selected venue/experience/date/time/party combination from search results. Returns availability, the card requirement (Required covers deposits, prepayments and card holds or guarantees; Unknown does not indicate no card) and a handoff URL for finishing the booking on the CoverCount website. Read-only: creates no booking or hold.

search_available_reservations

Claude

Searches public reservation openings by what/where, venue-local reservationDate (YYYY-MM-DD), party size (default 2) and optional reservationTime (HH:mm[:ss]). A null time covers the whole date; a time covers +/-30 minutes within that date. Results group slots by venue and experience, report completeness in progress and continue via continuationToken. Slot cardRequirement is Unknown; get_reservation_opening checks a selected opening. Read-only: creates no booking or hold.

search_places

Claude

Searches public places by what/where, independently of reservation availability or event dates; closed or currently unbookable venues can appear. Each place includes venue type, location, distance and venue URL. Results report completeness in progress and continue via nextOffset. A listing does not indicate an available opening.

search_public_events

Claude

Searches public event series by what/where and dateWindow: Today, ThisWeekend, Next7Days, Next30Days or Any (default). Arbitrary date ranges and registration are not supported. Each event includes its venue, next start with timezone, lowest listed price and currency, members-only and sold-out flags, count of more dates and event URL. Results report completeness in progress and continue via nextOffset.
