Electric State

By Electric State

Overview

Plan your festival experience with Electric State. Look up official set times by festival, artist, or day; find upcoming festival editions; see which festivals are on between two dates, near a city or in a state or country; and see which festivals an electronic music artist is playing next. Set times are transcribed from festivals' official published schedules and returned on the festival's local clock, with stage names and source graphics when available. Cancelled editions are taken out of the catalog. Results include links to Electric State for more event details. This connection reads public festival information. No account or API key is required. It cannot buy tickets, change schedules, or access a user's passport or saved events. Historical booking analysis, aggregate rankings, and the full Scene Index archive are separate products and are not available through these tools. If a schedule has not been published or an artist has no listed upcoming bookings, the tools report that limitation.

Tools

get_artist_schedule

ChatGPT

Upcoming festival bookings for one artist — where they are playing next. Use for "where is X playing", "is X touring", "what festivals is X on this year". Each booking's date is the artist's own night, which on a multi-night run or a festival weekend can fall after the edition's date_start. Returns upcoming dates only; full booking history and rankings are a paid product. Host festival lineups are omitted unless include_lineup is true.

get_set_times

ChatGPT

Official per-artist set times for a festival: who plays when, on which stage. Transcribed by hand from the festival's own published schedule graphic, so it is authoritative rather than inferred. Use for "when does X go on", "what time is X playing", "what stage is X on", or to read a whole day's schedule. Times come back on the festival's local clock. Schedules publish 2-7 days before doors — an empty result means not yet published, not that the festival does not exist.

list_festivals

ChatGPT

Upcoming festivals between two dates, optionally near a place or in a state or country, from Electric State's own catalog. Use for "what festivals are on this weekend", "festivals in Mexico in January", "any festivals near Phoenix next month". A festival counts on every day it runs. Cancelled editions are removed from the catalog. Defaults to today and the next 7 days; one call covers at most 31 days. For a state or country pass state or country, not near. The catalog also holds one-off shows and club nights, marked kind: "show"; pass kind: "festival" to leave them out. Upcoming dates only: past editions are a paid product. To find one festival by name, use search_festivals.

search_festivals

ChatGPT

Find upcoming festival editions by name and get their slug, dates and location. Call this first when a festival is named loosely, then pass the slug to get_set_times. Covers upcoming and in-progress editions only; the 1993-onward archive is a paid product.
