Official Italian tourism statistics, per municipality, from ISTAT — the national statistics institute. Covers all 8,370 Italian municipalities, 111 provinces and 20 regions. ISTAT publishes this data but it is hard to reach: numeric codes instead of names, bulk endpoints that time out, and no lookup by name. This connector turns it into two calls. cerca_comune finds a municipality by name — partial names and typos included — and returns its ISTAT code. Italy has many homonyms, so every match is returned with its province, letting the model disambiguate instead of guessing. dati_comune returns, for the latest available year: overnight stays (split between residents of Italy and non-residents), arrivals, bed places, number of accommodation businesses, and resident population. Every response carries its source and a link to the public page for that municipality, so a figure quoted by the model can be traced back. No authentication: the data is public and free. Both tools are read-only.
