Overview

GovBot Environmental Site Context is a remote, read-only MCP server operated by Ideation Lab, Corp. It requires no account. For a latitude and longitude it reports the environmental records the agencies map nearby, read live from their own services, each result with its publishing agency, layer, vintage and retrieval time. What it returns: - U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Wetlands Inventory polygons within a radius: Cowardin classification code and its decoded system, class and water regime, wetland type, acreage and distance, with the source imagery year of the mapping project. - Final and proposed critical habitat from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: species, listing status, Federal Register citation, publication date and distance. - Facilities in EPA Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) near the point: programs, current compliance status and significant-noncompliance flag as EPA publishes them, inspections, formal actions and penalties. - One facility's compliance and enforcement summary by EPA Facility Registry Service ID, and a description of each layer and its vintage. Typical use: a first environmental look at a site before a field visit, a permit application or a due-diligence review. How results are qualified: screening context only. Mapped wetlands are not a delineation or a jurisdictional determination; critical habitat maps are not the legal boundary description or a consultation outcome; ECHO values are EPA's published summary, not a compliance finding. Vintages vary by layer and area. Not affiliated with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, EPA or any government agency. The server writes nothing.

Tools

describe_environmental_layers

Claude
Returns, for each layer served, the publishing agency, service endpoint, content, classification or status vocabulary, update practice and vintage as the agency states it, official documentation page and the limits of use; with the data-edit dates the critical habitat layers currently report.

get_critical_habitat_near_point

Claude
Returns critical habitat areas within a radius of one point from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Ecological Services critical habitat service (final designations and, unless excluded, proposed designations), nearest first: species common and scientific name, listing status, critical habitat status, Federal Register citation and publication date, unit name where the FWS layer records one, distance from the point in meters and whether the point falls inside the area. Critical habitat designated by NOAA Fisheries for marine and anadromous species is published by NOAA and is not in this service. A result is map context, not a consultation outcome or permit decision.

get_epa_facilities_near_point

Claude
Returns facilities in the EPA Enforcement and Compliance History Online (ECHO) facility search within a radius of one point, nearest first: facility name and address, EPA Facility Registry Service ID, distance, the regulatory programs ECHO links to the facility (Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA hazardous waste, Safe Drinking Water Act, Toxics Release Inventory, greenhouse gas reporting), the current compliance status and significant-noncompliance flag as ECHO publishes them, quarters with noncompliance in the last three years, inspections, formal enforcement actions and penalties in the last five years, and the facility location accuracy. Includes counts by compliance status for all facilities ECHO returns within the radius. Where ECHO returns more than 1000 facilities, the nearest are taken from a reduced radius stated in the result.

get_epa_facility_compliance

Claude
Returns the EPA ECHO Detailed Facility Report summary for one facility by its 12-digit EPA Facility Registry Service ID: program identifiers and permit types, current compliance status, quarters in noncompliance and in significant noncompliance by statute, inspections, informal and formal enforcement actions and penalties with ECHO's date windows, the most recent formal actions, notices and inspections (up to 25 each), the facility location method and accuracy, and the EPA data system extract dates. Values are EPA's published summary; they are not a compliance finding.

get_site_environmental_summary

Claude
Returns, for one point, a combined screening summary from the three agency services: NWI wetland polygons within 500 meters (count, whether the point is inside a mapped wetland, the five nearest, source imagery year), FWS critical habitat within 1000 meters (final and proposed, by species), and EPA ECHO facilities within 1 mile (count by compliance status, significant-noncompliance count, the five nearest). Each section reports its own source and retrieval time; an unavailable source is reported in its section without hiding the others.

get_wetlands_near_point

Claude
Returns U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) wetland and deepwater habitat polygons within a radius of one point, nearest first: Cowardin classification code with its decoded system, subsystem, class, water regime and modifiers, the NWI wetland type, mapped acreage, distance from the point in meters and whether the point falls inside the polygon. Also returns the NWI project metadata at the point (source imagery year, date and scale, project name) and the mapping status. Where more than 500 polygons fall within the radius, the nearest are taken from a reduced radius that is stated in the result. NWI maps are drawn from aerial imagery; they are not a wetland delineation or a jurisdictional determination.
