Lapka: Cat Training & Care

by Anatolii Dolinskyi

Overview

Lapka turns a question about your cat into a step-by-step programme you can follow at home. Tricks: sit, down, high five, spin, sit up, stay, following a target, walking into the carrier. Everyday habits: scratching furniture, peeing outside the litter tray, waking you at night, meowing all day, jumping on counters, biting during play or when stroked, two cats who don't get along, a new cat, a scared or shy cat. Each step says what to do, what it looks like when it works, and what to try when it doesn't. Tick steps off as you go, and open a clicker with three sounds to practise right in the chat. Ask why your cat kneads, purrs or gets the zoomies, and you get a link to Lapka's guide on it. Lapka helps with behaviour only. If your cat seems unwell or in pain, see a vet.

Tools

find_lapka_guides

ChatGPT
Use this when someone asks about everyday cat behaviour and is not asking for a step-by-step programme: why cats knead, purr, meow, lick people or sleep so much, zoomies, cat body language, life with a new kitten, how cat training works. Returns up to three of Lapka's guides on the topic (title, link and a one-line summary), ordered by how closely they match, or none. Give the topic as a few English keywords, and the locale when the person writes in Ukrainian or Spanish. Do not use for medical symptoms or emergencies, feeding amounts, poisoning questions, or dogs.

get_training_programme

ChatGPT
Use this when someone wants step-by-step help to teach their cat a trick (sit, down, high five, spin, sit up, stay, follow a target, clicker basics, walking into the carrier) or to change an everyday habit (scratching furniture, peeing or pooping outside the litter tray, waking people at night, meowing all day, jumping on counters, biting during play or when stroked, two cats fighting or sharing space, introducing or settling a new cat, a scared or shy cat, a cat home alone, an older cat, food puzzles, play). Returns the programme as ordered steps with what to do, what success looks like and what to do if it does not work. The person sees the result as a card with every step, so a short reply about the open step is enough. Do not use for medical symptoms or emergencies, feeding amounts, poisoning questions, or dogs.

list_training_programmes

ChatGPT
Use this when someone asks what they could teach their cat, or which programmes Lapka has. Returns tricks and everyday-habit programmes with a one-line description each. Do not use when the person already named a goal — use get_training_programme for that.

open_clicker

ChatGPT
Use this when someone wants a clicker to mark the moment their cat does the right thing, or wants to start a short training session now. Shows a clicker with three sounds and a count. Pass the programme and step being practised when known, so the step stays on screen. Do not use for anything other than training practice.
