Overview

Mēdota shows patients and families which clinical trials are recruiting for a condition in their own country, and explains them in plain language. Claude answers in the language you write in. What it covers - Trials from ClinicalTrials.gov, the EU Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS), the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS, run by BfArM) and the ISRCTN registry, refreshed every night. - A trial is listed for a country only when it is recruiting and at least one of its sites in that country is recruiting. - A trial listed in more than one register appears once when Mēdota can confirm it is the same trial, with links to each register. If that cannot be confirmed, both entries stay. - Every trial carries a link to its official record, the date its sponsor last updated that record and the date Mēdota last checked it. Trials whose recruiting status may be out of date are marked and listed last. - Plain-language explanations are written by AI from the register's public text and checked against it. Where a check fails, and for German register records from before 2025, Mēdota shows the title and a link only. - Ask what is new since a date to see trials that opened, changed status or added a site. What it does not do Mēdota describes trials studying a condition. It does not judge whether you or a family member can take part, and it does not diagnose or advise on treatment. Whether a trial fits is decided by the trial team together with your doctor. Privacy No account and no sign-in. Mēdota receives only the condition, the country, a trial number or a date from your question. It keeps no record of questions, no conversation text and no IP addresses, only monthly totals of how often each condition and country is asked about. The service runs on servers in Germany. Built by a father whose son has a rare disease and whose father has Alzheimer's, for patients and families living with complex illness.

Tools

find_recruiting_trials

Claude
Lists clinical trials that are currently recruiting, study a given condition, and have at least one recruiting site in a given country. Sources: ClinicalTrials.gov, the EU Clinical Trials Information System (CTIS) and the German Clinical Trials Register (DRKS). Each result gives the register number, official title, phase, sponsor, the recruiting sites in that country (ClinicalTrials.gov gives a status for each site; CTIS and DRKS only for each country, so their sites carry recruiting: null and a sites_note), a short plain-language explanation of what the trial tests (German register records from before 2025: title and link only), links to every register that lists it, the date the sponsor last updated the register record, and the date Mēdota last checked it. Results describe trials studying the condition; they do not assess whether any person can take part.

get_trial

Claude
Returns one clinical trial by its register number: the facts copied from the register (overall status, phase, sponsor, start and expected completion dates, countries, and each site with its recruiting status where the register gives one per site), a plain-language explanation of what the trial tests and, in general terms, which patients it studies (German register records from before 2025: title and link only), links to every register that lists it, the date the sponsor last updated the register record, and the date Mēdota last checked it.

whats_new

Claude
Lists changes since a given date for trials studying a condition: trials that started recruiting, trials whose recruiting status changed, and trials that added a recruiting site. Each item states what changed, when, and links to the register record.
