Overview

MindMeal answers where and what to eat from restaurants' own menus, dish by dish: what each dish is, what it costs, and what the menu itself states about the 14 EU allergens. What you can ask - Find a dish by name in any language, by price, by cuisine, vegan or vegetarian, near a place you name, in a neighbourhood, open now or at a time. - Find restaurants by name or street, near a place, by cuisine. - Find set menus: a menú del día at lunch, a tasting menu. - Read one restaurant's whole menu, in the original and in English, or only the dishes that fit your question. - See results as cards in the chat, with links to the restaurant's page, a map and directions. Who it is for Visitors and locals deciding where to eat, who want to see the dishes and prices before they go. Allergens Only what each menu states. A dish is listed as free of an allergen only when its menu or the restaurant itself says so. Where a menu says nothing about an allergen, MindMeal says exactly that and never guesses from a dish's name or ingredients. MindMeal never calls a dish safe. Always tell the restaurant about an allergy before you order. Limits - Cities: Barcelona today, with more being added. Every result names its city. - Read-only: it cannot book a table, order food or change anything. - No account and no sign-in. - Menus change. Each result links to the restaurant's page on mindmeal.net, where the menu can be read as printed. - Opening hours are known only for restaurants that gave them. Privacy MindMeal keeps nothing of what is sent to search with: not the words, not the allergens you asked to avoid, not the place. It counts only that a restaurant was shown, which of its tools was used, and the name of the assistant app.

Tools

fetch

ChatGPT
One restaurant as a document: its details and its whole published menu as text, every dish with its price and what its menu states about the 14 allergens.

find_place

ChatGPT
Where a named place is, to search near it: its coordinates for search_dishes and search_restaurants (near_latitude, near_longitude). Up to 5 matches, most likely first. The name is looked up in OpenStreetMap; it takes a place's name only, nothing about the diner.

get_menu

ChatGPT
Use this for "what's on the menu at X", "what does X have without milk", prices at a place: a restaurant's published menu, every dish by name (and the other languages it was printed in) with its price - or only the dishes that match the filters ("what here has no milk?"). The filters apply the menu's own statements exactly: a dish the menu says nothing about never matches free_of. Every dish sorts the 14 allergens into contains, stated_absent and not_stated, with who said so and their words. not_stated means the menu does not say; "all" means it states nothing for that dish.

get_restaurant

ChatGPT
Use this when the diner names a restaurant in the cities MindMeal covers (today: Barcelona): its address, contacts, and how many dishes its menu has at what prices. For what it serves, get_menu.

list_neighbourhoods

ChatGPT
The city's districts, each with its barris: the names the searches' neighbourhood takes. Without a city, the first city's, and every other city's in other_cities.

search_dishes

ChatGPT
Use this when the diner asks where they can eat or get a dish in the cities MindMeal covers (today: Barcelona), or about a dish: finds dishes on restaurants' own menus, with price, restaurant, distance and whether it is open now. Not for recipes. Each dish lists only the allergens its menu states are absent; for all others the menu does not say. What each dish contains, in the menu's own words, is in get_menu.

search_restaurants

ChatGPT
Use this when the diner asks about restaurants in the cities MindMeal covers (today: Barcelona) - a name, "restaurants near X", "somewhere in Gràcia". Finds restaurants with a menu on MindMeal: by name or street, near a place the diner named, in a neighbourhood, by cuisine, open now. Each comes with its cuisines, menu size, price range and links. Nearest first with a place; with no name and no place, photos first and then a random order, the same all day. To know what a restaurant serves, and what its menu says about allergens, use get_menu.

search_set_menus

ChatGPT
Use this for "menú del día", lunch deals and tasting menus in the cities MindMeal covers (today: Barcelona). Finds set menus - a menú del día at lunch, a tasting menu: several courses for one price, with when they are served and the restaurant. Lunch menus (a menú del día) come first, each with its kind; then nearest first with a place, else cheapest.
