Overview

Modem groups customer feedback from chat, issue trackers, and support inboxes into topics, people, and companies. From ChatGPT you can search that graph in natural language ("What are customers saying about billing this month?"), run the Modem Agent, and update your workspace directly: reprioritize topics, merge duplicate companies or people, and keep customer records current. Connecting uses OAuth; search (data:read) and agent/write access (agent:invoke) are granted separately, and write tools act under your existing role in the Modem organization you authorize. Requires a Modem account.

create_feedback_channel

Send a question, or send only the cursor from a previous result to fetch its next page. Topic priority in the rows is an integer: very_low (-100), low (-50), default (0), high (50), very_high (100). Send feedback about Modem to the Modem team: a confusing tool result, a missing capability, an unclear error, or anything the user wants to pass on. Offer it when a Modem tool fails or returns something you cannot act on, or when the user asks for something Modem cannot do; call it only when the user asks to or agrees, never on your own. In message, describe what you tried, what happened, and what you expected, in the user’s words where you have them. Send the user’s name and email: the Modem team replies to that address, so ask for them if the conversation does not already have them. For a failing tool, send its name in tags as tool_name, its trace ID in trace_id, and what you were attempting in context; add release for your client’s version when you know it. Nothing else from the conversation is sent. Returns the feedback id.
