ChatGPTCompatibility alias for make_call; calls any named recipient with the same authorization, quote, billing and idempotency rules. Prefer make_call for new requests. Omitted recording follows the account default exactly as make_call does; set recording=false only if the user chooses not to save a recording to their account. An enabled default is the user's choice to save supported recordings. No participant recording agreement is requested and no recording announcement is played. Duration defaults to two minutes. Contact the requester during the call only with explicit per-call allowQuestions=true; enabled live questions are bounded by the approved deadline.
cancel_call
ChatGPTRequest that a queued, scheduled or active call stop, when the user asks. A calls:cancel-only connection receives only identifiers, status and cancellation-request state; calls:read is separately required for results or transcripts. When read access is available, poll get_call to verify termination and the final charge. Used connected time may still be charged; an accepted cancellation is not proof the call ended.
compare_calls
ChatGPTCall 2–5 recipients explicitly named and authorized by the user to compare grounded answers. Requires approval of the total maximum budget; the same calling and recording rules as make_call apply. Calls run sequentially by default. Optional executionPolicy allows up to three concurrent informational calls and a grounded-success count that stops remaining calls. Parallel calls cannot join the owner or ask live questions. Poll get_comparison and cite each recipient's quotes. The result_url opens the comparison and Stop remaining control. For one recipient use make_call.
estimate_call
ChatGPTQuote a call only when the user explicitly requests a call or its review, before asking them to approve its objective and maximum charge. Include the actual objective and relevant call_context, or select a saved taskId that supplies them. A phone number alone cannot be reviewed; never invent a placeholder objective. If the task is unclear, ask what information or message the user wants before estimating. Do not estimate draft edits, typing or background retries. Check current get_workspace availability first; suspended accounts or accounts without usable credit or eligible complimentary time cannot request review. Use the same objective, context, phone_number, duration, attempts, mode, callback target and recording settings as the intended call. Omit recording on standard ask calls to honor the account default; set recording=false only when the user chooses not to save a recording to their account. Open Calls may separately retain private recordings for debugging under its Privacy Notice. Saving an account recording requires the user's explicit request or saved default. No participant recording agreement is requested and no recording announcement is played. The returned request shows resolved recording settings and does not authorize a call. Show maximum_usd and minimum_charge_usd; pass returned maximum_micro to make_call as max_charge_micro. Does not dial, reserve credit or charge.
get_assistant

Continue polling until audit.terminal is true and audit.billing.state is final; do not stop after a few pending reads. Always tell the user the final outcome and exact audit.billing.charged_usd, including voicemail, failures and cancellation. If audit.voicemail exists, report its playback_confirmed and note separately; completed voicemail playback never proves a person heard it or the original objective was resolved. Relay pending questions immediately. Report audit.confirmed with recipient quotes. Report audit.delivered separately as assistant transcript statements with utterance references, never proof of audio playback or human receipt.
