Overview

Podcast workflows for Podwise accounts, using the Podwise MCP server: search podcasts and episodes, follow shows and see their new releases, read AI summaries, chapters, highlights, Q&A, mind maps and transcripts of episodes, and ask questions answered from podcast transcripts. Includes guided workflows to catch up on a backlog, write a weekly recap, take episode notes, research a topic across podcasts, debate the ideas in an episode, and build language-learning cards. Use when the user asks about podcasts, podcast episodes, or their Podwise library.

Tools

ask_podwise

ChatGPT
Ask a question answered from podcast transcripts across Podwise. Returns an answer with cited source clips (episode seq, speaker, timestamps). Counts against the user’s Ask quota.

complete_audio_upload

ChatGPT
Finish an upload started with start_audio_upload: creates the episode and starts AI processing, which consumes AI processing credits based on duration. Returns status "waiting_for_file" if the file has not been uploaded yet; ask the user to finish the browser upload and call again. Safe to call repeatedly.

create_clip

ChatGPT
Save a key moment of a transcribed episode as a clip at the given playback position. Podwise generates the clip boundaries and takeaways asynchronously.

delete_clip

ChatGPT
Permanently delete one of the user’s clips. Confirm with the user first.

enterprise_export

ChatGPT
Export a processed Enterprise uuid as Markdown, SRT subtitles, CSV or an XMind mind map. Short text exports are returned inline; XMind and long exports return a download link valid for 10 minutes to share with the user.

enterprise_get_result

ChatGPT
Get the processing result (summary, transcript and generated content) of one Enterprise uuid. Set includeSourceInfo to also return the stored audio metadata.

enterprise_get_status

ChatGPT
Get processing or translation status for up to 100 Enterprise uuids.

enterprise_get_translation

ChatGPT
Get a finished translation of a processed Enterprise uuid.

enterprise_get_usage

ChatGPT
Get Enterprise processing history and usage for a billing cycle.

enterprise_process_audio

ChatGPT
Submit an audio file to the Enterprise Processing API. Provide either audioUrl (a publicly downloadable URL) or uploadId (from start_audio_upload after the file is uploaded). Processing is asynchronous and billed to the Enterprise organization: poll enterprise_get_status.

enterprise_query_results

ChatGPT
Get selected result sections for up to 50 Enterprise uuids at once.

enterprise_translate

ChatGPT
Request translation of a processed Enterprise uuid. Poll enterprise_get_status with kind=translation.

export_clips_markdown

ChatGPT
Export all ready clips of an episode as one Markdown document. Short exports are returned inline; long ones return a download link valid for 10 minutes to share with the user.

export_episode_markdown

ChatGPT
Export the summary, outline and transcript of a transcribed episode as a Markdown note, optionally formatted for Obsidian or Logseq. Short exports are returned inline; long ones return a download link valid for 10 minutes to share with the user.

export_episode_srt

ChatGPT
Export the transcript of a transcribed episode as SRT subtitles, optionally translated or bilingual. Short exports are returned inline; long ones return a download link valid for 10 minutes to share with the user.

get_ask_history

ChatGPT
Without hash: list questions the user asked Podwise within a date range. With hash: get the full answer and sources of one question.

get_clip

ChatGPT
Get one clip with its content, takeaways and a temporary media URL when available.

get_episode

ChatGPT
Get details of a Podwise episode by seq, including its AI processing status and progress. Use it to check whether an episode is transcribed or to poll after process_episode.

get_episode_summary

ChatGPT
Get the AI-generated summary of a transcribed episode. Returns the overview, takeaways, chapters and highlights by default; pass sections to also get the Q&A, keywords or mind map, or to fetch only what is needed. If the episode is not transcribed yet, offer to run process_episode.

get_episode_transcript

ChatGPT
Get the full transcript of a transcribed episode with timestamps and speakers, paginated by segment. Prefer get_episode_summary unless exact wording or quotes are needed.

get_me

ChatGPT
Get the connected Podwise account: email, plan and remaining AI processing credits.

import_episode

ChatGPT
Import a single episode into Podwise from a Xiaoyuzhou episode URL or a YouTube video URL, and return its seq. Importing does not start AI processing.

list_clips

ChatGPT
List the user’s clips (saved key moments with AI takeaways). Pass episodeSeq to list the clips of one episode; otherwise lists the user’s most recent clips.

list_episode_translations

ChatGPT
List the translations of an episode and the status of each one.

list_followed_episodes

ChatGPT
List episodes recently published by podcasts the user follows, with read status. Useful for catching up on what is new.

list_followed_podcasts

ChatGPT
List podcasts the user follows that published new episodes within a recent date range.

list_my_episodes

ChatGPT
List episodes the user recently played or marked as read, newest first.

list_podcast_episodes

ChatGPT
List episodes of one podcast published within a date range, including whether the user has read each one.

process_episode

ChatGPT
Start AI processing (transcription, summary, outline) for an episode. This may consume the user’s AI processing credits, so confirm with the user first. Processing runs asynchronously: poll get_episode until it is done.

search_episodes

ChatGPT
Search podcast episodes in Podwise by keywords. Returns each episode seq, title, podcast, publish time and whether it has been transcribed (transcribed=true means summary and transcript are available). Use the seq with the other episode tools.

search_podcasts

ChatGPT
Search podcasts (shows) in Podwise by keywords. Returns each podcast seq, name, owner and last publish time. Use the podcast seq with list_podcast_episodes or set_podcast_follow.

send_clips

ChatGPT
Send one clip (clipId) or all ready clips of an episode (episodeSeq) to the user’s connected Notion database or Readwise. The integration must already be connected in Podwise settings.

send_episode

ChatGPT
Send the summary and notes of a transcribed episode to the user’s connected Notion database or Readwise Reader. The integration must already be connected in Podwise settings.

set_episode_read

ChatGPT
Mark an episode as read or unread in the user’s Podwise library.

set_podcast_follow

ChatGPT
Follow or unfollow a podcast in the user’s Podwise library.

start_audio_upload

ChatGPT
Start uploading a local audio file to Podwise for AI processing. The file itself is never sent through this tool. The result offers two ways to upload: 1. If you can run shell commands or make HTTP requests, PUT the file bytes to uploadUrl with the given uploadHeaders (e.g. curl -X PUT -H "Content-Type: <type>" --upload-file <path> "<uploadUrl>"). 2. Otherwise, give browserUploadUrl to the user so they can upload the file in their browser. Then call complete_audio_upload with the uploadId. Links expire after one hour.

translate_episode

ChatGPT
Request an AI translation of a transcribed episode. Translation runs asynchronously: check list_episode_translations for progress, then read it with get_episode_summary or get_episode_transcript and the same language.
