Overview

Searchsmith helps you write precise DealHunter saved-search alerts and sends a draft to DealHunter for your review. A new search is not live until you open its single-use claim link, sign in or register on DealHunter, review it, and tap Create. An existing search changes only after you review its edit form and tap Save Changes. The plugin does not require a ChatGPT or Codex account connection to DealHunter.

Send what the user wants to find, in plain words, to DealHunter; it builds the saved search and returns a claim link for the user to open. Call it only when the user wants to save the search and you know the item and their maximum price. Works for existing and new users: a new user signs up and the drafted search becomes their first saved search. Use a six-character pairing code only as a fallback when the claim link cannot be opened; never invent one. If the user gave a ZIP code, include it in request.

Send the whole search as the user now wants it, in plain words, to the open DealHunter edit form identified by editRef, with the search's maximum price in maxPrice; DealHunter rewrites the keywords from it, and prices change only through maxPrice and minPrice. This changes the pending revision, not the saved search. The user must review the result and tap Save Changes in DealHunter. The same editRef can receive several revisions until the form closes, the user saves, or 30 minutes pass.
