Video Highlight

by Video Highlight

Overview

Video Highlight turns your videos into a searchable library: timestamped transcripts, AI summaries, and the passages you highlighted. This connector gives Claude read-only access to that library for the account you sign in with, so it can find a video by what was actually said in it, quote the transcript, and cite the exact second. It searches your own library only, never the web, and cannot change anything in your account. Works with YouTube, Vimeo, Dailymotion, and your own uploads.

Tools

get_highlights

ChatGPT
Get the passages the caller highlighted in one video, with any notes they wrote on them. Highlights are also called moments: a request for the user's moments means this tool. Returns two groups: highlights made on the AI summary (each with its language) and highlights made on the transcript (each with its timestamp). Use this to answer what the user marked as important, or to find their notes on a video. If a highlight says its original passage is no longer available, the transcript or summary was regenerated after it was made; the note and timestamp are still returned but the original text is not. Read-only. Never creates, edits or deletes a highlight. An empty result means the user has not highlighted anything in this video, which is normal. Do not use this to find which videos have highlights; it reads one video at a time.

get_summary

ChatGPT
Get a saved AI summary for a video by its Video Highlight ID (from list_videos or search). Returns its points in order as markdown; each timed point ends with its time and a link that opens the video at that spot, like [12:58](link). Headings and points without a time carry no link. Use this first for what a video is about, or to take the user to its key points. Pass language to prefer one of the languages list_videos shows for the video; when it is omitted, or no summary exists in that language, the video's most recent summary is returned instead. The first line of the result names the language actually served, which may differ from the language requested. Read-only. Never triggers new summarization; errors with summary_not_found only when the video has no saved summary at all. Do not use this to create or request a new summary; new summaries are created at videohighlight.com.

get_transcript

ChatGPT
Get the saved transcript for a video by its Video Highlight ID (from list_videos). Returns time-stamped segments in the transcript’s language. Use this for the exact wording of what was said. It is long: for a video's key points use get_summary, and to find where a topic came up use search. Read-only. Never triggers new transcription; errors with transcript_not_found when the video has no saved transcript.

get_video

ChatGPT
Get one video from the library by its Video Highlight ID (the id returned by list_videos or search, used exactly as given). Returns title, source, duration, status, and whether a transcript and summary are available. Do not use this to read the transcript or summary text; it returns metadata only. Call get_transcript or get_summary for content.

list_videos

ChatGPT
List the caller's Video Highlight Library: every video they have at least one saved summary for, in the same order as the Library page in the app (last opened first; each entry also shows its added date). Each entry lists the languages a summary exists in, marking the most recent one, and (when known) when the caller last watched it and how far through they got. To answer "what did I last watch", compare the "last watched" times: the list is NOT sorted by them. Pass one of the listed languages to get_summary to read that summary; without one it returns the latest. Two limits. Viewing history is partial: a missing "last watched" does not mean never watched, only that no watch event was recorded. And videos that were transcribed but never summarized are not in the Library and do not appear here. Cursor-paginated: the first page is a small window. When total_count exceeds the page, keep paging via next_cursor or use search before concluding anything about the whole Library. Use this to discover video IDs for get_video / get_transcript / get_summary. Do not page through the whole library to find a topic or keyword; use search for that.
